About Brunner

Dave Matthews and Dominic Mustillo met in early 2003. After discovering their same passion for music they decided to test the waters in the local music scene.

In October 2003, Brunner made their debut to a receptive audience at Karma Coffee House and discovered their new careers in music. Throughout this time, the band has honed not only their technical skills but their song writing skills as well. Citing influences like Jack Johnson, the Dave Matthews Band, reggae, folk and pop, the band has made a reputation for themselves at local venues and appearing on A-Channel’s Wired twice in 2004 and they are scheduled for a third appearance in July 2005.

After playing regularly as a duo for a year, the band set their sights higher and entered Vibe 98.5 Unsigned Vibe contest which is open to local singer/songwriters. They beat out hundreds of contestants to be in the finals and widened their fan base. They then had some free recording sessions at The Beach with recording engineer and drummer Syd Beagle who eventually joined the band.
